Participating Companies

 

1. What type of company can enroll in the Programme of International Training INOV Contacto?

- Portuguese companies with existing or foreseeable business in overseas markets that are considered to be of strategic to Portugal;

- Multinational companies, with an important presence or high strategic level of interest in or for Portugal;

- International organizations and companies that are considered of a strategic level of interest for Portugal, with special impact in the internationalization;

2. What is the financial involvement of the participating company during the training period?

All transport and accommodation expenses incurred by the trainee in Portugal or abroad, during the training period are the responsibility of the participating company.

Apart from these, and although not compulsory, priority will be given to companies who participate financially in the associated costs, namely:

a) Assistance in travel expenses;

b) Assistance in accommodation expenses;

c) Others;

3. Is the training period paid?

Yes, the training period is paid and payment is divided into two parts:

a) Throughout the whole training period a monthly equivalent of twice the IAS (Indexing Social Support) value.

b) During the abroad training period, a subsidy based on the Cost of Living Index of each country is added.

4. Who deals with the legal entry formalities for the trainees in countries where this is necessary?

All legal formalities necessary for entry and residence of the trainees will be dealt by AICEP, except in cases where the participating company has to legally collaborate or in markets where the company's business is sine qua non.

5. Which training areas are normally covered by the Programme?

AICEP reserves all rights to promote training programmes in areas considered strategic and of national interest, subject to offers presented by the participating companies. Other non-priority areas may be considered at companies' request and if there is availability.

6. Does this training programme require our organization to take out a contract of employment with the trainee?

No. The training programme INOV Contacto does not require a contract of employment either by the participating company or by AICEP.

7. Does the trainee have a fixed timetable?

Yes. International training programmes INOV Contacto are professional. The trainee has to comply with the office hours of the participating company, which will be confirmed by the responsible person who will fill a monthly report.

8. During the training period can the trainee leave the country where he/ she is based?

During the abroad training period the trainee must reside and carry out his/ her duties in the country or area that he/ she has been allocated by AICEP. Any trips outside the country/ area without authorization from AICEP will result in penalties as stipulated in the Training Programme Agreement.

9. Can the training programme take place in more that one country?

Yes, on special occasions when requested by the participating company, any expenses incurred will be of the responsibility of the company.

10. Is there a holiday period planed during the training programme?

The training programme is continuous and does not foresee a holiday period, however it should comply with local and company laws.

11. What are the criteria for evaluating the training programmes (criteria - trainee) ?

The appraisal for each trainee is calculated: by the professionalism in the carrying out of their tasks; by their punctuality; compliance of working targets; by their attitude towards their colleagues and Programme coordinator.

12. What are the criteria for evaluating the training programme (criteria - participating company)?

Each training programme is calculated on various levels;

- Length of the training period;

- Compliance of training plan;

- Compliance with criteria for receiving trainees;

- Report by trainee on their training period;

- Level of professional support given to the trainee.

13. What is the Training Programme Agreement?

It is a legal document, within the Training Programme Regulations, stating the duties and obligations of the parties. The Training Programme Agreement is between each trainee and AICEP. The signing of the Training Programme Agreement takes place during "Campus" - Seminar of International Strategies and Experiences.

14. What are the Training Programme Regulations?

It is a legal document that complements and regulates the Training Programme Agreement.

15. What are the enrolment dates for the next edition of INOV Contacto?

Information and timetable regarding new editions of the INOV Contacto programme are always indicated at www.networkcontacto.com, a site that should be regularly visited by the companies interested.

16. What are the procedures that interested companies should follow?

Interested companies have to apply on-line at www.networkcontacto.com by completing the enrolment form and accepting its general terms.

17. To whom do I send the enrolment form?

When a new edition on INOV Contacto takes place, the enrolment forms will be available on-line on the Networkcontacto page.

18. I applied on-line and have not received an email confirmation. What do I do?

If you did not receive a confirmation email it may have gone to junk mail or spam and automatically blocked by server. It could also be possible that an error took place and in this case your application has not been registered. Therefore please complete a new on-line form and send it to us. If a confirmation email is once again not received, please contact us via networkcontacto@portugalglobal.pt

19. Can details be changed after the closing date?

No. Changes to forms can only take place before the closing date.

20. When will I know if I am going to receive a trainee?

After closing dates, candidates will be placed and then an email will be sent to the signatory on the enrolment form, with the candidates profile for acceptance.

21. Can the participating company interview their allocated candidate?

The participating company will have to base acceptance on the candidate's profile. However, in some cases, before acceptance, the participating company may ask Program INOV Contacto for a telephone or an in person interview so that the Training Programme can be adapted to the trainees profile.

22. Can the participating company refuse a trainee?

Yes. However the rejected trainee may not be replaced.

23. How does INOV Contacto Programme select candidates?

The selection of candidates is carried out in phases: evaluating their competence, capacities and potential that are considered essential for the success of the Training Programme. This process takes into consideration the vacancies available for each edition and judged by stages, all eliminatory. For more information please visit the page "Process Selection" on the website.
